The recently released KuppingerCole Leadership Compass: Privileged Access Management report highlights several key trends and critical features for modern IAM and PAM. There is a growing need for cloud-native solutions that focus on scalability, seamless integration with DevOps tools, and advanced Just-in-Time (JIT) access for both human and machine identities.

Britive is proud of our inaugural inclusion in this year’s PAM Leadership Compass as a Challenger in this established category.

Previously, Britive was featured in KuppingerCole’s 2022 CIEM & Dynamic Resource Entitlement & Access Management (DREAM) platforms Leadership Compass and 2023 Cloud Infrastructure Entitlement Management (CIEM) Leadership Compass

The Shift to Cloud-Native PAM

The report outlines the challenges in managing disparate access controls and identity frameworks across platforms and microservices as organizations increasingly move to multi-cloud environments.

Traditional PAM solutions, designed for on-premises infrastructure, often fall short in addressing cloud-specific needs. With privilege sprawl and standing privileges still posing major risks, companies are looking for flexible, agile solutions that reduce their attack surface and align with a Zero Trust security model.

The report’s key findings note the growing importance of least-privilege and just-in-time ephemeral access to minimize risks and simplify access governance. Solutions that offer dynamic privileges and temporary access while being easy to use and deploy are key to securing modern complex, distributed environments.

Cloud PAM Built to Address the Market’s Needs

Britive's cloud-native platform is revolutionizing the way organizations approach PAM. KuppingerCole recognized our forward-thinking by scoring us second-highest overall for Innovativeness, demonstrating how meeting the demands of the market is helping usher in a new and more modern era of PAM in the cloud.

Britive’s compelling value proposition is well-articulated in the following comment by KuppingerCole:

“Britive delivers a quicker time-to-value, being API-driven enabling faster value realization. For IT teams with limited security budgets, Britive addresses the cloud user access challenge through technology, reducing the need to hire additional personnel.”

Our cloud PAM (CPAM) platform unifies and secures access for all identities, human and non-human (NHI), to any resource regardless of where it resides.

Britive goes beyond the limitations of traditional PAM solutions by providing:

  • Ephemeral, dynamic access that grants privileges only when needed, reducing the risk of long-lived credentials. By separating authentication from authorization, Britive’s patented time-bound JIT provisioning eliminates the risk of static and over-provisioned accounts.
  • Multi-cloud and hybrid on-prem access management, simplifying access control across cloud environments like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, as well as private networks or containerized environments.
  • Seamless DevOps integration with tools like Terraform, GitHub and CI/CD pipelines, ensuring access management meets the agility of the cloud and enables end users to utilize the systems and workflows they already have in place.
  • API-first architecture, which enables organizations to embed access management directly into their workflows, to accelerate productivity without compromising security.

Britive’s ability to handle complex access needs without the delays and administrative burdens of traditional access offers a solution tailor-made to meet the needs of both innovation and security compliance in modern, complex cloud and hybrid environments.
